Job Summary:
The Surgical Services Specialist supports surgical services by providing auditing, scheduling and administrative services relating to patient surgical procedures. Working in our state of the art facility, the ideal candidate for this position must have critical thinking skills and be able to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have:
Associate’s degree in related field preferred.

Job Description:

Receives, coordinates, and schedules requests for surgical services. Determines system and equipment needs for procedure requests.

Collaborates with departmental/multidisciplinary staff, physician offices and vendors to ensure availability of resources required for all aspects of the surgical continuum to include supply/equipment costs, labor and operating room special needs, and any information outlining payer coverage, coding and billing used in determining appropriate facility charges, as needed.

Performs internal charge entry audit to ensure accuracy, completeness and proper coding to maximize reimbursement. Consults with clinical staff to resolve any identified issues.

Performs routine administrative duties and workflow oversight duties in support of surgical services.
