**You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. This position is located off-campus with a local Lexington employer and is not affiliated with the university.**

Downtown nonprofit organization providing healthcare to our neighbors in need. Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pharmacy services are provided free of charge to Lexington residents living without insurance and below federal poverty guidelines. All clinics are run primarily by volunteer medical professionals with support from staff members.
Responsibilities include:
● Provide quality and compassionate patient care.
● Educate patients in oral hygiene. Provide post-appointment instructions for care.
● Prepare operatories for clinic examinations and treatment.
● Take x-rays.
● Supervision of volunteers.
● Maintain operational readiness of lab and operatories.
● Prepare tray setups.
● Mix and prepare impression materials.
● Assist professional dental staff with treatment as needed.
● Execute opening and closing procedures.
● Ensuring proper sterilization and sanitation of clinic instruments and equipment.
● Ensure compliance of all licensing regulations.
● Utilize our online dental record system, Curve Hero, for patient charting. Ensure quality of all patient records.
● Refer patients to other dental providers and social services entities for provision of services to meet the needs of clinic patients when needed.
● Communicate regularly with the other clinic staff to maintain a smooth referral process between the internal clinics.
● Provide orientation, training, and supervision to dentists, non-clinical volunteers, pre-dental students, and student interns as needed.
● Maintain dental fee payment logs. Deliver all patient payments to the Dental Clinic Manager.
● Other duties as assigned.
