Pharmacy technicians possess knowledge regarding basic medication use, common disease states, and patient care workflow. Workflow management, patient scheduling, inventory and recordkeeping must take place on a continual basis in support of the PharmacistCare model providing immunization and point of care testing. A pharmacy technician involved in the POCT process, under appropriate supervision by a pharmacist, could be responsible for filling out the appropriate application paperwork, for becoming familiar with laboratory rules and regulations to maintain the Certificate of Waiver, OSHA and regulatory requirements as well as notifying pharmacists of MTM and other counselling opportunities. Training will be provided for processes and systems.
