Job Summary:
At MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care we care for more than 12 percent of Maine’s cancer population and see more than 7,000 individuals with a cancer diagnosis annually, including more than 1,100 newly diagnosed cases. We are currently looking for a full-time Scheduler in our busy practice. This position requires an innate sense of empathy, compassion and strong communication skills. Medical terminology and scheduling experience is desired.

Job Description:
Responsible for all scheduling activities associated with the treatment of patients
Responds to emergent scheduling requests communicating with providers, patients and involved departments for schedule manipulation
Schedules new patient consults and follow up appointments included ancillary tests as needed
Contacts and schedules patients in a timely manner
Works collaboratively with the clinical team providing support based on the needs of the department

The ideal candidate will have:

Up to one year related work experience preferred
Proficient in a suite of Microsoft Office Applications
Ability to work independently, effective time management and problem solving skills, able to manage multiple priorities
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Confident and effective oral and written communication skills
