The Dietitian performs nutritional assessments of patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric. 

The Dietitian duties include:

Documents and assists with modified diet prescriptions. 
Consults with patients and families on dietary and nutritional status. 
Assists with tube feedings and TPN orders. 
Appropriately assesses patients at nutritional risk via screening policy.
Assesses patient and family learning needs, identifies barriers to learning, mode of learning.
Assists as needed in food production, policy development and special projects.
Demonstrates ability to assess and reassess patients needs appropriately and timely according to policy.
Develops individualized plan of care.
Documents nutrition intervention in detailed, accurate, and appropriate manner.
Effectively explains diet requirements, restrictions, and food/drug interactions.
Participates in the monitoring and reporting of quality indicators for clinical nutrition and food service.
Recommends additional nutrition therapy as needed.
Respond to requests and consults timely according to policy.
Works collaboratively with other health care disciplines in developing interdisciplinary plan of care and discharge planning.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Food, Nutrition and/or Dietetics. 
Prefer two years of experience as a Dietitian.
Customer Service skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Ability to project a professional image.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of personal computer and software applications used in job functions (AS-400, Word processing, databases, spreadsheets, etc.)
Persons who have been found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting, or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in this position.
Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
Freedom from use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.

Education and/or Experience: 

Experience in a health care setting preferred.
One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: 

Current registration as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration and licensed by the Department of Health in the state of employment.
Two years of experience as a Dietitian preferred.
