Overview

The University of Kentucky College of Nursing invites qualified applicants for this full-time (10-month) position in the Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) program. This non-tenure track position includes developing, coordinating, and teaching content in an undergraduate, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. It includes classroom and/or online instruction; supervision of nursing students in the nursing skills lab and clinical settings; advising students; involvement on college committees; clinical scholarship and membership in professional organizations.

Qualifications include a Master’s degree in nursing or other relevant healthcare degree, Doctor of nursing practice (DNP), doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree or other doctorate in nursing. Active Kentucky license as a registered nurse, with a minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent experience employed as a nurse within the last 5 years is required. Previous teaching experience in an accredited BSN program is preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, clinical practice and service. Demonstrated ability for effective didactic and clinical teaching in public/population health nursing is preferred.  Demonstrated experience in promoting health equity is preferred. Demonstrated ability for professional development, community engagement and leadership is preferred.
