Overview

Keeps assigned areas clean and attractive with emphasis on infection prevention.  Uses disinfectants and other supplies according to manufacturer specifications and infection prevention guidelines.

Job Specific:

Sweeps, mops, vacuums, damp wipes with disinfectant.  (EF)
Removes trash and soiled linen.  (EF)
Cleans and stores hospital equipment as directed.  (EF)
Reports needed maintenance repairs.  (EF)
Documents all tasks and make record of patient requests and complaints in room cleaning.  (EF)

Hospital:

Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

Minimum Requirements 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to read and write in English and perform basic math
Consistent work history or education
Ability learn and apply proper techniques in cleaning a healthcare environment

PREFERRED:

High School diploma
Two years cleaning experience in healthcare or other industry
Proven work experience as a housekeeper or custodian in healthcare
