The University of Kentucky’s Department of Sociology in Lexington, KY invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor faculty position to begin August 1, 2021. The department is seeking a scholar with expertise in medical sociology with a focus on the sociology of substance use, adolescent health and wellbeing, health disparities, and inequalities in access to health care services. The successful candidate will participate in an innovative, interdisciplinary program in Health, Society, & Populations (https://health.as.uky.edu/). This individual will teach courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates whose research and teaching add to existing departmental strengths and needs (see www.as.uky.edu/Sociology).

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of the appointment.
