The ideal candidate will have:
1 year of experience in a medical office or hospital registration/scheduling setting
Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Proficiency in the use online registration systems such as Soarian Financials or similar systems
Excellent and demonstrated customer service and communication, timeliness and accuracy.
Meets with patient or patient’s caregiver before and/or after admission to exchange necessary information anddocumentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.
Communicates with admitting physician’s office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
Verifies insurance benefits, obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up.
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
